This sixth act takes place twelve years after the heavily pregnant Sita is abandoned by Lakshman, on Ram’s order, near Valimik’s ashram due to the loose talk of the villagers. Due to this cruel act of Ramachandra, his mother decides to stay away from Ram and the kingdom in the ashram of her son-in-law. They have now come for a visit to Valimiki’s ashram. Near the end of the act Ramachandra, Kausalya, Janak, Arundhati, Vashishtha, Luv, and Kush become aware that they are all together near Valmiki’s ashram. Kausalya, Janak, and Arundhati faint as they realise that Ramachandra is nearby. Ramachandra says:
You kindness to the one who was sinful and unkind to the good fortune of the families of Raghu and Janak, i.e., to Sita, is wasted.
Now I will go and show my respects to them.
