There are several software available for unicode writing, the best of which, is possibly Itranslator2003. You can download the software from http://www.omkarananda-ashram.org/Sanskrit/itranslator2003.htm. It might take a while before you master the ITRANS scheme for transliteration, but it's indeed useful.
So, download ITranslator 2003 and get started. If you need any help, do not fail to leave a comment on this blog!
Alternatively:
(a) Convert Sanskrit text in Roman script to Devanagari at: http://www.iit.edu/~laksvij/language/index.html
(b) Copy and paste it in wordpress blog.

इन्द्रिय = organ
In Bhagavadgeetaa, it is quite nicely detailed that there are five functional organs and five organs of sense. None of them answer the interpretation इन्द्रिय =Ether.
Ether is whatever is in the “space”, in the space above earth, i.e. in the layers, what are refered to as ionosphere, stratosphere, etc. The Rishi’s speak of seven strata above the earth (called as “Swarga’s i.e. heavens) and seven strata below the earth’s surface (called as Paataal’s i.e. Netherworlds), each strata is called as Lok or Bhuvan, totally fourteen of them!
In English we also use the adjectives real and ethereal. Ethereal is whatever is beyond “real”. Considering that modern science does recognize strata such as ionosphere, stratosphere, etc. seven strata or seven heavens of which Rishis have spoken of merits to be considered only as scientific truth, which they had discovered, studied and detailed. Four of these BhooH, BhuvaH, SwaH and Tat are very much mentioned in the all-famous Gaayatree Mantra.
I am making this post from Dubai. Here I do not have the DevanagarI script. Otherwise I would have included appropriate references and quotes from Sanskrit scriptures.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I am asking Because I have been reading and studying the Shakti Mantras. Which speaks purely from the Sanskrit. I’ve been wanting to get a tattoo on the back of my neck for some time now. After much contemplation, I’ve decided to get an Ankh with Sanskrit engraving saying “I AM Ether!” Being that this is the throat chakra, I’ve selected blue for color. Knowing this, I want my tattoo to flow with not against this seat. This tattoo is intended to be a permanent amulet of the embodiment of ALL that is!
Are there are any symbols that you feel would be best to get in this region? Or, any suggestion at all as to better convey what I want?

Would a better usage of the term be:
अधिभूत (ALL) n. the spiritual or fine substratum of material or gross objects, the all penetrating influence of the Supreme Spirit, the Supreme Spirit itself, nature

The word अधिभूत is very well detailed in the seventh and eighth chapters of Geetaa. Lord KriShNa makes mention of it in the penultimate shloka of seventh chapter. The shloka reads –
साधिभूतादि दैवं साधियज्ञं च ये विदुः ।
प्रयाणकालेऽपि च मां ते विदुर्युक्तचेतसः ॥
This prompts Arjuna to raise, at the beginning of eighth chapter, the questions “What is अधिभूत ? What is अधिदैवं ? What is अधियज्ञ ? His questions are in this shloka –
अधिभूतं च किं प्रोक्तं अधिदैवं किमुच्यते ।
Lord KriShNa then clarifies –
अधिभूतम् क्षरो भावः पुरुषश्चाधिदैवतम् ।
अधियज्ञोऽहमेवात्र देहे देहभृतां वर ॥
The meaning is अधिभूतम् is क्षरो भावः i.e. all things that are susceptible to expire, i.e. all things that have an expiry date 🙂
अधिदैवं is explained as पुरुषश्चाधिदैवतम् । This means that अधिदैवं is पुरुष or the eternal soul.
अधियज्ञ is explained as अधियज्ञोऽहमेव meaning I am अधियज्ञ, i.e. I am the deity for all sacrifices or for all offerings. In the ninth chapter it is explained that any offerings made to any other deity finally reach me.
The context of अधिदैवं is पुरुष should provoke an inquiry into the relationship between (1) अधिभूतम् which is things with an expiry date, also called as प्रकृति both in Seventh and Thirteenth chapters and (2) अधिदैवं, which is पुरुष or the eternal soul. This relationship is given in great detail in the thirtenth chapter.
By these considerations, the meaning that you got in your research –
“…अधिभूत (ALL) n. the spiritual or fine substratum of material or gross objects, the all penetrating influence of the Supreme Spirit, the Supreme Spirit itself, nature..”
is not correct.
Since अधिभूत encompaases all things, which have an expiry date, it cannot be merited with the spiritual or fine substratum. It only encompasses the material aspect of all objects.
This is the interpretation, I would present from my study of Geetaa.
“अहं ब्रम्हास्मि ।” or “सोऽहमस्मि ।” would possibly best answer your search for “I AM Ether!” Maybe I shall have to write another post to explain how “अहं ब्रम्हास्मि ।” would possibly best answer your search for “I AM Ether!”
I think I already made a post about सोऽहमस्मि । refering there to also a Psalm, which says, “Be still and know that I am God!!”

First part should be alphabates used in word. Pronounciation is a main part of any language. It shouldn’t be vary according to location or people. There a way to read any sanskrut shloka with proper pronounciation and rhythm. I heared this from one of the Gurukul(Ujjain. M.P.).
We should save our native languages to use them in day to day life or whenever possible(like always choose indian language as option in ATM/call center/internet.

I want to know how one composes a phrase in sat-ShaShTee in Sanskrit.
It seems, that the rule is to put both – a subject and the derivative “kRudanta” of the verb – into their genitive cases.
By this token, the phrase “tasya sanjanayan harSham…” in Shloka 12 in Adhyaay 1 of Shreemad-Bhagavad-geetaa does not seem to be grammatically correct. The phrase seems to have been intended to be in sat-ShaShThee. Most people have interpreted it in this manner only. But by grammar of sat-ShaShThee, it does not seem to be correct. For correct phrasing in sat-ShaShThee, the “anwaya” of the phrase should become “tasya harSham sanjanayataH” or “harShitasya tasya”
Maybe, originally the phrase was “tadaa sanjanayan harSham…” Possibly in the passage of time, it got mis-spelt.
Please comment.
Thanks in advance,
S. L. Abhyankar

What you are looking for is explained very lucidly in the sixth Chapter in Shrima-Bhagavat-Geetaa, specifically in the following verses.
I hope, you will have access to a commentary on Geetaa, where you will find explanation of above verses.
To accept a premise that “what we do in life echoes in eternity”, may lead one to deliberate on the concept of re-birth.
I am told that concept of re-birth is not acceptable to Christianity. But the concept of re-birth is very much endorsed in Geetaa, not only in above verses but also in
बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्मां प्रपद्यते |
वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः ||७-१९||
and in many other verses.
I would translate “what we do in life echoes in eternity” as
यद्यत् वयं कुर्मः तत्सर्वम् अनन्तकालपर्यन्तम् अवकाशे प्रतिध्वनति ।

What the tattoo reads is
यज्जीवने कुर्मः अनन्ततायां प्रतिध्वनति ।
What I had composed was
यद्यत् वयं कुर्मः तत्सर्वम् अनन्तकालपर्यन्तम् अवकाशे प्रतिध्वनति ।
The tattoo is quite fine.
Two words, mainly the verbs कुर्मः and प्रतिध्वनति common. I am happy that I got them right. Also the part अनन्त is again common in अनन्ततायां and अनन्तकालपर्यन्तम् |
There is a saying, “Truth is one, Words and styles are different.”
एकं सत् विप्रा बहुधा वदन्ति ।
The tattoo is more crisp, I would agree.

Also there is a query in my post…”I would like somebody to comment which one of the two संस्कृत-नामा or संस्कृत-नाम्नी is better or more correct.” I shall be obliged for comments on this.
My post is as under –
“..There seem to be too many grammatical mistakes, all over. Right in the title of the blog, I would suggest that it should read
संस्कृत-नामा or संस्कृत-नाम्नी दैवी वाक्
in place of
संस्कृत नाम दैवी वाक्
Since the noun वाक् is feminine, its adjective संस्कृत-नामा should also be feminine.
Also, writing two parts of a compound word संस्कृत and नाम separate is bad grammar. It is better to present a compound word by hyphenation, as shown, i.e. as संस्कृत-नामा or संस्कृत-नाम्नी.
I would like somebody to comment which one of the two संस्कृत-नामा or संस्कृत-नाम्नी is better or more correct.
I appreciate the basic intent of the blog to promote usage of Sanskrit. But is it good to spread wrong usage?
