वेतालपञ्चविंशति (Twenty Five Vetala Stories)
गत सप्ताहे अहं जम्बुद्वीपः नामकः जालपत्रे वेतालवार्ताः दृष्टवान्। ताः वार्ताः मम शैशव्यम् अस्मारयत्। शैशव्ये अहं चन्दामामापत्रिकायाम् वेतालकथा नियमितः पठितवान्। यदा सोमदेवविरचिताः वेतालकथाः प्राप्तं तदा अत्यन्तं हर्षम् अन्वभवम्। नन्दकिशोरमहोदयेन सहाय्येन तस्याः कथायाः देवनागरिलिप्यां परिवर्तनम् अपि अकरवम्। अहं मन्ये जम्बुद्वीपे यत् संस्करणं लब्धवान् तस्यां बहूनि अशुद्धयः सन्ति। यदा कुतः मूलपाठं लप्स्ये तदा ताः कथाः सम्यक् करिष्यामि।

Its a nice story . I would like to share you a think that “we have to improve saskrit knowledge in this mordern society , Because Every body in india going aside to America, England ….. like that. So They are not at all wants to know what they have realy in their hands . Its a Diamond, Its a AmruthaSanjeevani root, Its a Golden mountain . So we should take a step to realise the people that they are wearing a black glass and seeing the think in black . We have to remove from their eyes and sperd the light to them.

You have posted your message under “Vetal-Panch-Vinshati”. “Vetaal” stories are too long.
I just scripted in Sanskrit and translated into Hindi a short story from 6th Standard textbook of NCERT. It became quite an effort!! My mother tongue is Marathi and not Hindi. So, my translation in Hindi may not be all that good. I hope, that you will like the story nevertheless.
एकस्मिन् ग्रामे कश्चित् निर्धनः युवकः आसीत् । तस्य नाम धनपालः आसीत् । सः प्रतिदिनं भिक्षायै ग्रामं ग्रामं प्रति भ्रमति स्म । भिक्षायां प्राप्तैः सक्तुभिः तस्य घटः पूर्णः अभवत् । सः घटं नागदन्ते अवलम्ब्य तस्य नीचैः खट्वायां शयनं करोति स्म, शयनकाले च निरन्तरम् एकदृष्ट्या घटं पश्यति स्म ।
सः एकदा रात्रौ एवम् अचिन्तयत् – मम अयं घटः सक्तुभिः पूर्णः अस्ति । यदा दुर्भिक्ष्यं भविष्यति तदा सक्तु-विक्रयेण प्रचुरं धनं प्राप्स्यामि । ततः तेन धनेन अहम् अजाद्वयस्य क्रयं करिष्यामि । अजाद्वयस्य शिशुभिः अजानां समूहः मम समीपे भविष्यति । अजानां विक्रयेण गवां, महिषीणां, अश्वानां च क्रयं करिष्यामि, तासां शिशुभिः बहवः पशवः भविष्यन्ति । तेषां विक्रयेण मम पार्श्वे बहूनि धनानि आगमिष्यन्ति । धनेन विशालस्य भवनस्य निर्माणं कारयिष्यामि । तदा मां धनिकं मत्वा कोऽपि रूपवतीं कन्यां मह्यं प्रदास्यति। ततः मम पुत्रः भविष्यति । तस्य नाम सोमशर्मा इति करिष्यामि। कदाचित् क्रीडन् सः पुत्रः मम समीपम् आगमिष्यति। तदा कुपितः अहं स्वपत्नीं वदिष्यामि – “गृहाण एनं बालकम्।” सा गृहकार्ये संलग्ना मम वचनं यदा न श्रोष्यति तदा अहं पत्न्याः उपरि पादेन प्रहरिष्यामि।
एवं स्वप्नेन प्रेरितः सः पादप्रहारम् अकरोत्। तेन सक्तुपूरितः घटः भूमौ पतितः भग्नः च अभवत्। भग्नेन घटेन सह एव तस्य मनोरथाः अपि भग्नाः अभवन् । अतः युक्तमेव उक्तं “अतिस्वप्नरञ्जनं किमर्थम्। अति सर्वत्र वर्जयेत् ।” भगवद्गीताया षष्ठेऽध्याये अपि अस्ति उपदेशः -
नात्यश्नतस्तु योगोऽस्ति न चैकान्तमनश्नतः।
न चातिस्वप्नशीलस्य जाग्रतो नैव चार्जुन॥गीता ६-१६॥
हिन्दीमें -
किसी गांवमें एक निर्धन युवक रह्ता था। उसका नाम धनपाल था। वह भीख मॉंगने के लिये गांव गांव भटकता था। भीख मॉंगकर लाये अनाजसे उसका मटका भर गया। तब उसने उस मटकेको खुंटीपर टांग दिया और उसके नीचेही अपनी खाट लगाकर मटकेको ताकते हुए सोचमें डूब गया।
मेरा मटका तो अच्छा भरा हुआ है। जब अकाल आयेगा तो मैं इसमें जमा हुआ अनाज बेचकर एक बकरा और बकरी खरीदूंगा। उनके बछडे होंगे तो मेरे पास बकरियोंका झुंडही हो जायेगा। उनको बेचकर मैं कुछ गाय बैल खरीदूंगा । उनकेभी बछडे होंगे। उनको बेचकर मेरे पास बहुत धन हो जायेगा। तब मैं एक महल बनवाऊंगा।
मेरी धनिकताको देखकर कोई मुझे अपनी रूपवती कन्यासे शादीके लिये मनवायेगा। मेरा जो बेटा होगा उसका नाम मैं सोमशर्मा रखूंगा। खेलते खेलते वह बालक मेरे पास आएगा तो मैं पत्नीको आवाज दूंगा, “अरे, जरा ले जाओ इस बेटेको।” किसी काममें व्यस्त होनेसे उसको मेरी आवाज सुनाई नही देगी तो मैं उसे लाथ मारूंगा।
ऐसे स्वप्नरंजनमें वह इतना खो गया कि, उसने खटियेपर लेटे ही सचमुच हवामें लाथ मारी। उसकी लाथ मटकेको ऐसी लगी कि मटका जमीनपर गिरा और फूट गया। मटकेके साथ साथ उसके सारे सपनेभी चकनाचूर हो गये।
ठीक ही तो कहा है, अतिस्वप्नरञ्जनसे क्या फायदा? किसीभी बातकी अतिशयोक्ति नही होनी चाहिये। भगवद्गीतामें भी छठे अध्यायमें कहा है –
नात्यश्नतस्तु योगोऽस्ति न चैकान्तमनश्नतः।
न चातिस्वप्नशीलस्य जाग्रतो नैव चार्जुन ॥ गीता ६-१६॥
हे अर्जुन (समझ लो कि) अति खानेसे योग नही हो सकता, न ही उपास-तापाससे। अतिस्वप्नरञ्जन करनेवालेको भी योग साध्य नही होता है, न ही अतिजागरण करनेवालेको।
